Microblogging may be contagious, but is it dangerous?
Not really - the only danger here is that yet another way of digital communication (just like IM with AOL, Yahoo, MSN, ...) gets compromised by corporate interests. Have a look at Identi.ca to see how easy it is to microblog in freedom!
Identi.ca has a beautiful attitude towards what it does.
- You can easily post blogs via Jabber
- It offers you to log in with your OpneID
- And creates an RSS feed for your post stream
On top of those nice features everybody is free to set up an own microblog server and federate with all other Open MicroBlog enabled servers. This is how an open internet is thought to be.
